Witch Hunter has usurped control of an ancient power site, Mystery Hill. He took it from The Scarlet Circle, a cult of the elder races of the Earth that want to unseat humans from its throne. Kirbbus, leader of the Dark Elves, which is one of the member races, has stolen a former guardian of Mystery Hill from the private vault of Elesar, leader of The Scarlet Circle. Kirbbus needs the guardian, a vapor knight named Engine O, to gain him entry to Mystery Hill, so he can use its power to return to his home dimension, Elfland, before Witch Hunter learns to control Mystery Hill or Elesar's plans destroy the world instead of saving it!
In the backup story, Rise of the Vapor Knight, the dark origin of Engine 0 is told!

Witch Hunter and his aide, Kitty, travel to an ancient power site called Mystery Hill, now a tourist attraction. Their mission is to seek out a control room, The Chamber of Orders, that can be used as a base for Witch Hunter in his fight against the evil cult, The Scarlet Circle. The site's time-lost guardian, The Grey Lady of Mystery Hill, needs something from them, however...and if she doesn't get it, not only will she not let them pass, she will not let them live.
In chapter 2 of the flashbackup story, Second Childhood's End, Witch Hunter's first mission is to steal a device called The Witch Watch, which can track prey and open gateways to almost anywhere in mirrored surfaces. He has to steal it from the evil cult, The Scarlet Circle, who have it guarded in an old keep called The Tinker's Stronghold.

Seven Tarot Card Stud
The powers that be which secretly guide world events, The Scarlet Circle, are handing out cards that are altering reality into an old world order of their design. Witch Hunter has to save an artist whose hand altered some of those cards, and, in so doing, reality, into a form that is not to The Scarlet Circle's liking. A backup story explores the hour before a young boy, who is to become Witch Hunter, and his family are burned at the stake.

People don't believe in magic anymore, so that magic is being stolen from them...secretly. Forged in the flames of the 1692 witch hunts, Witch Hunter is resurrected 300 years after being burned at the stake, at the dawn of a new world order rooted in the old world. Witch Hunter fights the powers that be, a secret cult known as The Scarlet Circle, who point the finger of blame at everyone else as a distraction to steal all the magic for themselves. Witch Hunter hunts the hunters. Opposing the darkness without being darkened by it, Witch Hunter journeys through this thrill-packed, ongoing adventure with a sharp wit and a sharper knife, in stories laced with irreverence and lots of action!
